We designed the Stirling Silverback gorilla sculpture with a presence you might almost miss at first glance, as the extraordinary thing about gorillas is despite their immense strength, they carry a sensitivity in their expressions and possess a posture that feels strikingly human. 

We continued this into the careful detailing of the gorilla sculpture's face. Every ridge along the brow, every fold around the eyes, and each strand of sculpted fur was chosen with precision. Gorillas have faces that seem to hold memory and emotion, and translating even a fraction of that into sculpture became central to our process.

Casting the piece in aluminium allowed us to preserve that sense of strength without burdening it with heaviness. It will not tire in the rain, nor fade under sun, and over time it deepens its character, much like the living creatures that inspired it. 

This is not just a garden sculpture. It is a commanding presence you place among growing things, where it can stand in still conversation with the natural world.
