We set out to create a figure of presence and movement, a leader on horseback, steady and self-assured. In shaping this sculpture, we drew inspiration from the strength, dignity, and deep connection to the land often reflected in Native American history, while knowing that no single form can capture something so vast.

From the beginning of our planning, we wanted to ensure every part of this piece was forged from scrap metal, reclaimed and reimagined in our vision. The countless fragments have been carefully placed to suggest motion and tension. The chief sits tall in the saddle, composed and watchful, his form defined through layers of intricate metalwork.

The process itself holds a range of blacksmithing techniques, cutting, shaping, welding, each mark left visible as part of its story. For us, it stands as proof of what can be achieved when forgotten materials are given purpose again.
