The positioning of our dinosaur skeleton garden sculpture was something the team discussed at length. We wanted to avoid the clunky heaviness you would expect from ancient forms, and channel something light and alert, almost curious.

We chose cast aluminium deliberately, partly because of its fantastically robust nature, but also we just loved the contradiction there. Aluminium holds detail beautifully, yet it resists the decay we instinctively associate with bones.

The process itself felt almost archaeological. We sculpted each vertebra and rib with careful attention, like palaeontologists with their fossil brushes. If you walk around it, you’ll notice the sculpture never quite settles into a single profile. From one angle it’s delicate, almost birdlike. From another, there’s a sharpness, a suggestion of instinct and attack. That duality creates an ever-changing garden sculpture depending on the day, time and frame of mind you view it in.

Placed within a garden or landscape, this piece draws attention and sparks curiosity, transforming its surroundings with a sense of scale, history, and playful drama.

We didn’t set out to recreate the past. We wanted to give it a place in the present.
