We designed our Blackwood Bison sculpture to feel grounded and quietly powerful. The contours of the shoulder curves and the head angle comes from time spent studying the animal’s weight and presence.

Cast in aluminium, the form is both strong and surprisingly fluid, allowing us to preserve the finer textures, such as the rough appearance of the mane and the smooth planes along the flank. The brushed gold finish catches light in a way that shifts throughout the day. In the morning it glows subtly; by evening it deepens into something richer.

Outdoors, the piece truly comes into its own. Set within a garden or open landscape, it contrasts beautifully with soft foliage and natural textures. Its warm metallic surface plays against greens, stone, and earth. Placed among grasses or near low hedging, it feels as though it has always belonged.
