Our Libre Curvature Acrobat sculpture came from a long-standing fascination with those almost undetectable moments in movement, when effort disappears and something purer takes over.

Much of the inspiration came from watching dancers and acrobats in rehearsal rather than performance: the quiet, unguarded seconds between poses, where concentration, fatigue, discipline, and instinct all coexist.

Cast in aluminium and finished by hand, this acrobat is frozen mid-motion, balanced delicately between control and abandon. We were especially interested in how the body carries tension without being rigid: the extension of the leg, the subtle curve of the spine, and the lowered head suggesting inward focus rather than outward display.

Beyond aluminium's strength and suitability for outdoor placement, we were drawn to the way it holds both sharpness and softness, mirroring the duality within the acrobat figure itself.

We designed the piece to sit naturally within outdoor spaces, drawing further inspiration from how movement contrasts with stillness in nature. Whether placed among structured hedging or within a more open, organic landscape, it’s intended to feel integrated rather than imposed.
